1. Open the Tesla app on your phone
2. Tap set schedule or charging.
(Yes — scheduling is inside Charging, not Climate.)
3. Under “Set Schedules,” tap the “+” next to Precondition to add a new automatic A/C or heating schedule.
4. Select “Scheduled Departure.”
5. Set the time you want the car to be ready.
Example: 7:30 AM
6. Turn ON “Preconditioning.”
This is the key step. Preconditioning will automatically:
- Cool the cabin (A/C) in hot weather
- Heat the cabin in cold weather
- Condition the battery for optimal performance
7. (Optional) Turn on “Off‑Peak Charging.”
If you want the car to finish charging right before departure.
