Can’t connect two Cisco Catalyst 3548 XL Switches in fiber-optic network

Situation: The client just pulled the fiber cables (6 single mode strands and 6 multimode strands) between two buildings. When they connected these switches via CISCO module GBIC 30-0759-01 1000BASE-SX, it doesn’t connect.

Problem 1: They connoted CISCO module GBIC 30-0759-01 1000BASE-SX to the SM strands. That doesn't work because CISCO module GBIC 30-0759-01 1000BASE-SX is for MM only.

Problem 2: Then they tried to connect them to MM strands. That doesn't work either because they used SM fiber cable.

Solution: Connect them to MM strands using MM fiber cable
