Event ID 4199 - "The system has detected a conflict for IP address" Symptom: 1. You just turn on you computer, and receive an error message similar to one of the following messages: The system has detected a conflict for IP address <xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx> with the system having hardware address <yy-yy-yy-yy-yy-yy>. The system detected an address conflict for IP address <xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx> with the system having hardware address <yy-yy-yy-yy-yy-yy>. The local interface is being disabled. 2. In the Event Viewer, you may see the Event ID 4199 - Description: The system detected an address conflict for IP address 192.168.1.100 with the system having network hardware address 00:0C:41:9B:88:89. Cause: There is another networking computer or device on the network using the same IP address. Resolutions:
