Situation: The client upgrade his windows 7 laptop window 10 successfully. However, He can’t run Windows update with Code: 80240FFF.

Troubleshooting:

1. Try Windows Update Troubleshooting by going to Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Troubleshooting>System and Security>Fix problem with Windows Update.

Or try the Windows Update Automated Troubleshooter link.

If issue still persists, try manually resetting update components:

2. If Windows 10 build is 10240, 10586 or other early version, you may want to  download latest Windows 10 version through media creation Tool and perform an In-place upgrade.This would make sure you are on the latest build of windows 10 and you would receive the Anniversary update due July this year.

3. Download and install Windows Update Assistant. This step by step video may help:

Situation:  when registering Baidu account, you may receive this error message as ” The system detects that the current account  is registered through an illegal channel… ” 

Resolution: You may register a Baidu account using other Baidu apps such as DuSpeaker on Android phones/tablets.

Situation: The client has Barracuda backup. Barracuda Backup shows this

Troubleshooting: if a folder or file that has been selected for backup is moved or removed from the parent directory, the Barracuda Backup appliance generates this error. To fix it, log in to the web interface and deselect the folder which has been removed from the directory for the source. To do so, please follow these steps.

1. Log in to Barracuda Backup, and go to the BACKUP > Schedules page.

2. Click Edit to the right of the source.

3.Navigate to the folder or files have been removed.

4. Uncheck it.

5. Save the settings.

Situation: The can’t establish the connection their EqualLogic PS6000 with this error: “Connection to the server could not be established “

Troubleshooting:

1. It is possible you may receive this error after Windows update or Java update. Try to upgrade EqualLogic Firmware.

2. Downgrade Java to previsou version.

3. Change: TLS anon and NULL Cipher Suites are Disabled. Quoted online:

Do this for both the 32bit and 64bit  Java.Security file(s) if they have both java runtimes installed.

The location is installation dependent by typically the file(s) are found at:

 C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_201\lib\security\Java.Security

 C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_201\lib\security\Java.Security<c:\program files=””></c:\program>

Use notepad++ or any other text editor that allows proper formatting

Edit the Java.Security file 

 The line to be edited starts with:  jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms

You have to remove the keyword ‘anon’ from the line. 

jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms=SSLv3, RC4, DES, MD5withRSA, DH keySize < 1024, \

    EC keySize < 224, 3DES_EDE_CBC, anon, NULL    

The line should then look like this: 

jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms=SSLv3, RC4, DES, MD5withRSA, DH keySize < 1024, \

    EC keySize < 224, 3DES_EDE_CBC, NULL 

4. Add the website to the Security. In Java, go to Java Configure Panel>Security.

In IE, go to Internet Options>Security>Site.

Situation: The client replaced their SQL server with a new server and keep the same name and IP. They deleted the old server backup from the Barracuda and create the new backup. The backup gives this error:

        LocalServer/AutoEmail – Unable to perform differential backup: an external program has made a full backup of this database. Please run a full backup before attempting another differential backup.

Troubleshooting: Since this is the new server replacing the old one. you need to do full backup at the first time.

Go to Backup>Schedules. Fine the server and click Edit. In SQL/Exchange Backup, switch the Smart to Full, After the backup success, switch the Full back to Smart.

Situation: The client just have a new Sharp Printer MX-M1055. When they try to import Address book from Sharp MX-6070N, they get this error: “ERROR[3514]: Processing failed. The file/folder cannot be imported.”

Troubleshooting: we may not be able to import some model printer address book.

Situation: The client just replace their Canon printer with Sharp Printer with the same IP address. They can ping it, but can’t access from web browser.

Troubleshooting: checking the network settings, we find they entered incorrect subnet. It should be class B 255.255.0.0. But they entered class C 255.255.255.0. Correcting subnet fixes the problem.

Situation: Whenever the user clicks Manage Rules and Alerts in Outlook, the Outlook crashes and restart.

Troubleshooting: 1. Go to Account Settings. Change the Use Cached Exchange Mode to download email to an Outlook data file settings.

2. Run Repair.

Situation: When opening Outlook, the user receives this message: We’re sorry, butOutlook has running into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. Outlook will need to be closed as a result. Would yo uplike us to repair now?

Troubleshooting: When you click Repair Now, it may not fix the problem. You may rec=fer to this resolution:

• Outlook ost cannot be accessed

If that doesn’t fixes the problem, try to create a new Outlook profile.

Situation: When the user tries to send an email, she gets this message: c:\user……ost cannot be accessed.

Troubleshooting: 1. Reduce the size of Outlook Data Files. Please refer to this post:

2. Repair Outlook. Please refer to this post:

3. Close Outlook, rename the ost and then restart the Outlook.

4. Run run SCANPST.EXE, which comes with Outlook. You may search it.
