You only have permission to view the current security information

Access is denied

Situation: The client found the Everyone was assigned to a server share folder and he removed it from the share folder. After that, all users can't open the files with "Access is denied" error. When he tried to re-set the permission by clicking the Security tab, he received "You only have permission to view the current security information" message even he was logon as Administrator.

Analysis: When he removed the Everyone from the security, he should make sure that Administrator/s have been assigned to the share folder. If not, he won't be able to access the folder or reset the permission after removing the Everyone.

Solutions:

1. He can use robocopy to re-set permission.

2. Take ownership from the original user and re-set permission.
