chkdsk /f C:
and then press Enter.

4.Enter and press Enter

5.Repairs will automatically start on your hard drive, and you’ll be asked to restart your device.

6.After restart, try the update installation.

Resolution 2: We fix this problem by installing latest hardware driver.

1. In the Search bar, type Device Manager.

2. Open Device Manager.

3. Expand the suspected device that causes the problem, Firmware in our example.

4. Right-click the device and select Update Driver Software.

5. You may need to restart the computer, and then try the update again.

Resolution 3: Adjust Paging File or disable Automatic Paging

* Type Control in the Search bar and open the Control Panel

* Click System and Security

•Click on System

* Click on Advanced system settings

* Click Settings in Performance under Advanced tap

* Click Advanced and then Changing under Virtual memory.

* Uncheck Automatically mange paging file size for all drivers.

•Now, you have two options, Check the System managed size or Custom size if you know what are you doing.

•Click all Oks to save the settings and restart the computer.

Resolution 4: Run SFC/Scannow

1. In the search box on the taskbar, type command prompt, then select Run as administrator from the list of options.

2. In the window that appears, type this command including spaces as shown:

sfc /scannow

3. Press Enter. Wait until the sfc scan verification reaches 100% completion, and then close Command Prompt.

Resolution 5: Resetting Operating System

Type in “RESET PC” in the Search bar.

 Click on Open.

Click on Get started to reset the PC.

 Note: You may have another option to Go back to the previous version of Windows 10 if  the PC was updated in 10 days.

Resolution 6: Run Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool

1. Click on Start Menu and type Memory Diagnostic.

2. Click on Select Windows Memory Diagnostics.

3. Click on Restart now and check for problems.

Note: It will restart your computer. So save and close apps.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions. It may take half hour to check any problems.

Note: you can also use manufactory memory diagnostic tool to check any errors. 

Resolution 6We fixed the blue screen error by performing a clean restart into Windows

A clean restart starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.

1) Run MSCONFIG.EXE.

2) In the Services tab, click “Hide All Microsoft Services” and click

“Disable All”.

3) In the Startup tab, click “Disable All”. Click OK. (This will

temporarily prevent third-party programs from running automatically during

start-up.)

4) Restart, and then try the update installation

Resolution 7: You can try Safe mode by following these steps if resolution 3 doesn’t fix the problem.

1. Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.

2. Press the power button again to turn on your device.

3. On the first sign that Windows has started, for example, Dell’s logo hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.

4. Press the power button again to turn on your device.

5. When Windows restarts, hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.

6. Press the power button again to turn on your device.

7. Allow your device to fully restart to enter WinRE.

8. On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot.

9. Select Advanced options.

10. Select Setup Settings.

11. Select Restart.

12. After your device restarts, you’ll see a list of options. Select 5 for Safe Mode with Networking.

13. Open Control Panel.

14. Select Uninstall a program under Programs. If you’re using Large/Small icons View, Select Uninstall a program under Programs and Features.

15. On the left-hand side, select View installed updates.

16. Right-click the update you want to uninstall, or the latest update.

17. Click Uninstall.

18. Select Yes to confirm and then Restart Now after the update uninstalled.

19. Try to re-install the Windows updater after the restart.

Notes: If you need to exit safe mode, here’s how:

1. In the Search box, type msconfig, and then select OK.

2. Select the Boot tab.

3. Under Boot options, clear the Safe boot check box.

Troubleshooting Paloalto Firewall IPSec VPN issues

  1. Try ping or trace route command to rom the PA external interface to the peer’s external interface.
  2. Make sure that the IKE identity is configured correctly and matches.
  3. Check that the policy is in place to permit IKE and IPSec applications
  4. Some useful commands:

a. show vpn ike-sa gateway <name>

For example:

show vpn ike-sa gateway Azure-Gateway

b. test vpn ike-sa gateway <name>

For example

test vpn ike-sa gateway Azure-Gateway

c. show vpn ipsec-sa

d. show vpn ipsec-sa tunnel <tunnel.name>

5. Check GUI

a. Go to Network>IPSce Tunnels. Mkae sure all Status are green.

b. Go to Network>IPSec Tunnels. Check Tunnel info.

c. Go to Network>IPSec Tunnels. Check IKE info.

d. Go to Network>IPSec Tunnels. Check default (show routes)

e. Got to Monitor>Logs>System to check any errors.

Excel Error: This File Couldn’t Open in Protected View

More and more people report they get “This File Couldn’t Open in Protected View” when they open Excel file. This article shows some cases we have with the resolutions.

Resolution 1: Disable Protected View

•With Excel open, click File.

•Click on Options in the bottom-left corner

•Click on Trust Center.

•Click on Trust Center Settings.

* Click Protected View and make sure that all options are unchecked.

* Click all OKs to save the settings.

Resolution 2: Repair Office

•Close all Office apps.

•Go to Control Panel.

•Click Programs and Features.

* Highlight Microsoft office, for example Microsoft 365, and then click on Change.

* Click Yes in the popup warning

* Check Online Repair and then click on Repair. The repair may take 30 minutes. 

Resolution 3: Upgrade Office

•With Excel open, click n File.

•Click Account.

* Click on Update Options, and then Update Now

Resolution 4: Install Windows Latest Upgrade

•Click Settings icon.

* Click on Update & Security

* Click Check for updates or Download and install now.

* After the Windows update, restart the computer and try to open the excel file.

No option to switch to different Teams account

The client changes their Office 365 login domain name. Now, some of users have a problem to login Teams because it doesn’t give them an option to switch. This video shows how to fix this problem.

Paloalto Firewall can’t access the Internet – Case Collections

This video shows some our cases to fix Paloalto Firewall accessing the Internet problems.

Case 1: The client changes their IPS and re-configured their PA-850 Firewall. He can’t ping a public IP address.

Troubleshooting: We run show deviceconfig. It shows Ethernet1/1 is using the old ISP 123.x.x.x/28. The new IP address is 50.x.x.x/28.
Changing the IP address to 50.x.x.x/28 fixes the problem.

Case 2: The client just changes their IPS and re-configures the outside Interface and Virtual router. However, they can’t access the Internet.

Troubleshooting 1: They need to modify the Security under Policies, Trust to internet in our example.

Troubleshooting 2: They need to modify NAT under Policies, NAT Outbound in our case.

Case 3: They can ping public IP address or any websites. However, they can’t access the websites.

Troubleshooting: in review the Security setting under Policy. We find the Application is limited Ping only.

Resolution: configuring Application to Any fixes the problem.

Tip: we should configure Service/URL Category instead of limiting Application.

Case 4: The client’s Active PA-850 is defected. They imported and loaded the configuration to a new unit successfully.  However, they can’t access the internet.

Troubleshooting: The MGT Default Gateway is setup 10.0.0.3 on the new unit. However, imported configuration on MGT Interface Default Gateway is 10.0.0.1

Changing Default Gateway to 10.0.0.3 on the MGT Interface fixes the problem.

Case 5: When the client just imported and loaded a good configuration into a new PA-850. They make sure the etherente1/1 to internet port has a good IP address and correct configuration. However, can’t ping the public IP address on the Firewall.

Troubleshooting: By default, Paloalto Firewall uses the MGT services such as default gateway, DNS. They must have ethernet1/2 configured and connected.
