🛠️ Step-by-Step Setup Guide
1. Unbox and Power On
- Remove all packing materials.
- Plug in the printer and turn it on.
- Wait for the blue wireless light to blink—this means it’s in Wi-Fi setup mode.
- If it’s not blinking, press and hold Wireless + Cancel (X) for 3 seconds to reset Wi-Fi.
2. download and Install HP Smart App
- On your PC or phone, open the HP Smart app.
- Click “Add printer”.
- The app will search for printers in setup mode.
3. Connect to Wi-Fi
- Select your printer from the list and click continue.
- Enter your Wi-Fi credentials.
- The app will send them to the printer and connect it to your network.
- Press and release the flashing “WiFi” button on your printer to confirm the connection.
4. Assign Static IP (Optional but Recommended)
Once connected:
- In HP Smart, go to Advanced Settings → opens the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
- Navigate to Network Settings → IPv4 Configuration.
- Set a static IP (e.g., 192.168.12.50) outside your DHCP range.
- Save and reboot the printer.
5. Install Drivers (if needed)
- HP Smart usually handles this automatically.
- For full functionality (scanning, firmware updates), you can also install the full driver package from HP.

- You can use Wi-Fi Direct if you want to print without connecting to your home network.
