🔄 Tesla Tire Rotation Schedule
Tesla recommends rotating your tires every 6,250 miles (10,000 km) or when tread depth difference exceeds 2/32 inch (1.5 mm)—whichever comes first. This helps ensure even wear, especially since rear tires tend to wear faster due to torque distribution.
- Model Y AWD: Use a cross-X pattern (front to opposite rear, rear to opposite front)
- Model Y RWD: Use a front-to-rear and rear-to-front pattern without switching sides
🛠️ How to Reset Tire Rotation Service Reminder
After rotating your tires, you can reset the service reminder directly from the touchscreen:
- Enter Service Mode
- Tap Controls > Service > Towing > Transport Mode
- Confirm with brake pedal if prompted
- Reset Learned Tire Values
- Tap the wrench icon (Service Mode UI)
- Go to Chassis > Alignment & Tires > Reset Learned Tire Values
- Tap Run and wait for the routine to complete
- Reset Tire Rotation Mileage
- Tap Controls > Service > Wheel & Tire > Tires
- Choose the tire season (e.g., All-Season, Winter)
- Tap Reset
- Verify Reset
- Check that Tire Service Mileage now shows “Less than 500 km ago”
- Exit Service Mode
