Symptom: You are running Virtual Server 2005. After you move the *.vhd from the default location, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Share Documents\Shared Virtual Machines, the Virtual Machines disappears and you can’t run the Virtual Machine. The Virtual Server Event Viewer lists the following error:

Event Type:        Error

Event Source:     Virtual Server

Event ID:   1079

Description: The configuration file referenced by the configuration "VXP" could not be found. The configuration has been removed.

Troubleshooting: 1. The Inspect of the Virtual Disks can find the moved VHD.

2. The Configure of the Virtual Machine doesn’t have the machine list.

3. To fix the problem, click Add under Virtual Machine. Then select the moved machine. Now, the Master Status shows the moved machine and you should be able to start it.
