Vista will resume from hibernate mode automatically

 

Symptom: After you put the laptop into hibernate mode, the laptop will resume by the unknown reason,
meanwhile the screen is off. If I have misunderstood your concern, please
let me know.

Resolution: this issue is caused by some unknown reason woke up the laptop. However the screen is still in the disable status.

Therefore, this issue is related to the hardware devices in the laptop. In
order to isolate the cause of the problem, please take the following
actions:

Step 1: Install KB941600
===============
You may install KB941600 "Cumulative update rollup for USB core components
in Windows Vista". It fix several known issues with USB and hibernation
issue. After that you may retest the issue.

Step 2: Remove all extended device before hibernation
=================================
Disconnect and unplug all the devices and cables before the hibernation.
Then retest issue.

Step 3: Check Power Management for specific device driver
=====================================
You may also check Power Management for the specific device driver. For
example:

1. Right click "Computer" and select "Manage".
2. Then click "Device Manager" and locate such as "Network adapters\
Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet" in the right panel.
3. Right click the driver "Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet" and click
"Properties" and click "Power Management" tab.
4. Please confirm the check box "Allow this device to wake the computer" is
clear.
