Symptom: when using ipconfig command in a computer, you may receive this error:

functioning.

Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for further help.

Additional information: Unknown media status code.

Resolutions: 1. Try to netsh to reset TCP/IP first.

2. Check any errors or missing items in the Device Manager. If this is the case, re-install them.

3. If you just upgrade the Windows or install new software, the TCP/IP protocol stack may be damaged. You may want to remove TCP/IP, Client for Microsoft Networks, and File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.

4. It can be the winsock is damaged. Troubleshooting winsock2 corruption issue.

5. Scan for any Virus or spyware.
