Even ID 8003 - The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer <computer name> that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on transport <Card #>.
Cause: 1. If there is router connecting to two subnets, and it is
configured to forward UDP broadcasts to UDP ports 137 and 138, then the
election broadcasts that are intended to one subnet may be forwarded to
other subnet. 3. If there is a multihomed computer in the LAN with an incorrect configuration, you may receive this Event. 4. This error can be attributed to one computer has different subnet mask in a network, for example, the subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 while one computer’s mask is 255.255.0.0. (check this case study, Case Study - Even ID 8003). 5. If a VLAN switch on the network is configured to broadcasts to UDP ports 137 and 138, then the election broadcasts that are intended to remain in the subnet are forwarded to other subnets.
