The DNS server encountered a packet addressed to itself - Event ID 7062 Q1: Hello I’m new to this forum and i have a problem, perhaps someone can help me out. I’m a network admin of a small network and one SBS2003 server. It has been running for a bout a month problem free. Now I am getting DNS errors by the hundreds. I’m unsure how to fix this problem. Here is the error message. The DNS server encountered a packet addressed to itself on IP address xxx.xxx. xxx.xxx The packet is for the DNS name "yahoo.com.". The packet will be discarded. This condition usually indicates a configuration error. The second issue i think is
related. once a day every day a specific website that is our erp (so its
used by 10 people at at time) times out on all users and is inaccessible
from the network. The server can still connect but the A1: I
wish you posted the event ID #. Is it Event ID 7062? Is the SBS multihomed
computer? How do you setup DNS Forwarders? Or posting the result of ipconfig

Here is the ipconfig the event id is 7062 how did you guess. The system is
the only server on the network(real small network) the dns was configured
by the wizard at install like i said im a sbs2003 newbie. let me know if i
