Can't access the Internet because of incorrect DNS settings

DNS pointing to 127.0.0.1

Situation: The client just installed a domain controller in a Windows 2003 server with DHCP, DNS and WINS enabled. The DC can access the Internet and clients can join the domain. The problem is the clients can't access the Internet.

Troubleshooting: 1. We found no workstation could not join the domain is use DNS name, chicagotech.net. It joined the domain using NetBIOS name. Sound like DNS issue.

2. Nslookup displayed the DNS pointing to 127.0.0.1.

3. Then we found when the client setup DHCP, he typed the DNS server and IP, but didn't click Add. So that the DNS Value is empty. Reset DNS under DHCP, all workstations work.
