Event ID 1069: The TS Licensing grace period has expired and Licensing mode for the Terminal Server has not been configured

The licensing mode for the terminal server is not configured.

Symptoms: 1. When attempting to login Windows 2008 R2 server using Remote desktop, you may receive this message: "Remote computer disconnected because of licensing protocol" or

"This computer might be low on virtual memory".

2. The Windows Event Viewer may log this vent:

Description: The TS Licensing grace period has expired and Licensing mode for the Terminal Server has not been configured. Licensing mode must be configured for continuous operation.

3. The Licensing Diagnosis under Server Management.Roles>Terminal Services>Terminal services Configuration shows an error with this message: "The licensing mode for the terminal server is not configured".

Resolution: 1. Use TS Licensing Manager to install the corresponding TS CALs on the license server. Please refer to this link:
