Troubleshooting Remote Desktop Connection has stopped working - Resolution with screenshots

Resolution 1: Try to disable printer mapping: Go to Remote Desktop Connection-> Local Resources Tab-> In the Local Devices and Resources uncheck the checkbox for Printers

Resolution 2: Update audio drivers. Please refer to this post: Remote Desktop Connection has stopped working Error

Resolution 3: Modify the display settings. Change the color quality.

Resolution 4: Upgrade video drive issue. Please refer to this post: Remote Desktop Connection doesn't working because of video

Resolution 5: It could be network or internet connectivity issue. Using ping 4.2.2.2 /t to check the connection.


Resolution 6: After updating my ATI X600 driver the remote desktop connection and Home server connection failed. When I rolled back the driver all is working again. I know there were similar issues with nvidia cards on Vista as well after updating the driver.

Resolution 7: Since I installed Kaspersky antivirus I am facing the error in connectivity. Disabling anti virus fixes the problem.
