Can’t setup a domain printer form workgroup workstation Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup Printer properties cannot be displayed Symptoms: 1. When trying to add a domain printer from a workgroup workstation using the domain username, you receive access denied. 2. When trying to send a print job to a domain printer from a workgroup workstation using a domain username, you may receive “Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup” 3. When trying to access a domain printer properties, you may receive “Printer properties cannot be displayed”. Resolutions: be default, everyone has rights to print to a domain printer. If you receive above issues, you may 1) make sure no group policy prevent to Everyone use the printer; 2) Make sure Everyone group is listed in the security; 3) Since this is workgroup workstation, you may need to re-new the cached credentials.
