.NET issue on Windows 2012 R2 - Step by step with screenshots 

Q: When attempting to install EqualLogic SAN HeadQuarters on Windows 2012 R2. It says:

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is already a part of this operating system. You do not need to install the .NET Framework 4.5 redistributable.

Same or higher version of .NET Framework 4.5 has already been installed on this computer.

However, the installation ends with this error: Preparing Install for Microsoft .NET 4.5. Executing Microsoft .NET installer. .NET Framework failed to install! Can not proceed.

Resolution: Uninstall .NET 4.5 and then re-install the EqualLogic SAN HeadQuarters.
