How to upload multiple folders in SharePoint

Postby chicagotech » Thu May 22, 2008 8:28 pm

Q: I am running MOSS 2007. When I try to upload multiple subfolders under one folder. For example, the folder name is data. Under data folder I have many subfolders, for example data\accounting, data\it and data\membership\chicagotech. I don't see the option to select the folder data to update all subfolders. I need to do that one by one. Any Suggestions?

A: there is no such option to do this action. However, we can
try to move these subfolders to the folder via Web Folder method:

1. Go to the document library where having the folder. For example, the url
could be http://chicagotech.net/Docs/data/Forms/AllItems.aspx
2. In ie, click on File - Open, enter the url
http://chicagotech.net/Docs/data/, tick the Open as Web Folder checkbox.
3. Double click the folder data, and then move the subfolders to that data
folder.

As we discussed in your another thread, Don't have option to upload multiple documents

you may need to check if you have installed Office client programs, such as Word, on the clients. Then,
check if this issue recurs.
