Fixing Single Label Domain prior to Exchange 2007 deployment

Postby guest » Tue Mar 18, 2008 1:14 pm

you have a single label domain, where Exchange 2003 server has been installed and removed. Now, you have the following questions:

1. Is there any known issue if you install Exchange 2007 server into this
domain since Exchange 2003 has been installed previously?
2. What domain name should you rename to?

Before installing Exchange 2007, I would like to suggest you remove the
existing Exchange 2003 organization first via the steps included in the
following article:

The REMOVEORG option in Exchange Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830185

After that, please rename the domain name and install Exchange 2007 server.

It is okay to rename the domain name from "foo" to "foo.local"
