Issuue to install Excahnge 2007 on 2000/2003 DCs

Postby guest » Tue Mar 18, 2008 12:41 pm

I have a network w/windows 2000 servers and windows 2003 servers. I have
run ADprep /forestprep and adprep /domainprep but when I try to install
exchange it complains that it can only find a DC w/windows 2000 OS on it
while I have a DC w/windows 2003 and GC on it. The FSMO and four of the 5
AD roles are also on the 2003 server Any help on how to install on this?

- Based on my experience, this issue could happen if setup service contacts
the Windows 2000 DC instead of the correct Windows Server 2003 DC. Thus,
it reports the version incompatible error.

To resolve this issue, we can use the command below to direct the Exchange
2007 setup to contact the correct server.

setup /mode:install /domaincontroller:<servername> /roles:ht,ca,mb,mt
/enablelegacyoutlook

The setup switches are really helpful for troubleshooting Exchange 2007
installation issues. You may find more information about them at:
