Postini Failed to connect to host or port

Postby guest » Thu Apr 09, 2009 12:15 pm

Symptom: when trying to synchronize directory, you may receive this error:

Failed to connect to host (hostname) on port {port number}. Please verify your settings and try again.

Resolution: 1. make sure you can access the host by the DNS name.
2. Make sure you can access the host using HTTPS or port 443 is open.
3. Make sure you enter omly DNS name without HTTPS, for example, mail.chicagotech.net.
