Laptop connects – then suddenly becomes ‘Limited connection'

Postby hutchta » Thu Jan 10, 2008 6:01 am

Help!

I have a network that consists of an XP desktop (wired connection); XP laptop (wireless) and a Tosiba Vista laptop (wireless.)

All work well except for the Vista laptop.

The network uses a Linksys 300N router; both laptops have Linksys N network cards.

My problems is the Vista laptop works fine with the inbuilt ‘g’ network card. But I’ve added a USB ‘n’ card to it. I’ve disabled the ‘g’ card and the ‘n’ card sees the network and connects, but after about 1-5 seconds it goes to ‘Limited connection’.

I’ve switched of all the firewalls, virus checkers, IPv6. I’ve got the latest drivers. Ensured the Power management is at the highest levels.

Any other suggest? Is there some sort of event log I can look at to see if something is kicking in that may be causing the problem?
