Install DPM on Backup Exec 2010 server

We have Symantec Backup Exec 2010 with SQL 2005 on Windows 2008 server. Can we install Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager on the Backup server?

From the problem description, I know that we want to install Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager on a server with Symantec Backup Exec 2010 and SQL Server 2005 installed.

If I misunderstand, please feel free to let me know.


Actually I think a DPM related engineer would be much helpful on this issue. It is more like to be an issue regarding the coexistence of Symantec Backup Exec 2010 and DPM. Since you post it in the SQL forum, I also had a research on my side and now I’d like to share you with my findings.





Note: From SQL side, we can install DPM on the server without problem even though we have already installed SQL Server on it.
