I have been attempting to synchronize my new Window Phone 7 with my exchange server 2003 R2. Initially it was failing with the error codes that I was able to search and attribute to problems with the certificates not being installed on the phone and came up with a solution for that error message, however; after installing the self signed certificate from my Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 I received a secondary error message: 85002028 (Your Windows phone doesn't support this server version.). I have not been able to find any information for this error message anywhere on the Internet.

If anyone in the partner community has any ideas on how to solve this issue they will be greatly appreciated!!!

Before we go further, I would like to know the following questions:



1. Is there any third party firewall deployed in your organization?

2. Does this issue encounter on all users?

3. Can OWA/Outlook Anywhere running normal?



Based on my research for this error 85002028, please perform the following steps to troubleshoot this issue:



1. If there is any firewall installed on your organization, please turn off them.



2. Please confirm that the server is running Exchange 2003 SP2, The initial release media for Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 contains the wrong version of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2). Please refer to the following article to repair this issue:
