Windows 7. PPTP VPN problem. Error 619.

Postby delaghetto » Wed Apr 28, 2010 7:50 pm

Hi,

I have a very strange situation with my Windows 7 laptop.

- I have several customers, and I can succesfully connect to all their PPTP VPN servers, except for one, in which when trying to connect, I get error 619.

- The strange thing is that my flatmate (same network) has a laptop with Windows XP, and I can succesfully connect with it. My coleagues also connect succesfully to this VPN server from their houses.

I've done a WireShark Trace, to see the behaviour of the connection attempt. What I can see is that my computer sends "PPP LCP Configuration Requests" of protocol 47 (GRE), and gets no response.

I've tried chaging the authetications protocols to PAP, CHAP, MS-CHAP V2 with no success.. Also tried optional encription in the VPN settings.

So this problem is driving me nuts, as I can't understand why only this VPN server gives me problems, and why everyone can connect except me.

Any ideas?? Thanks..

It could be 3rd party software. If running clean boot, can you establish the VPN?

Hi..

Thanks for the answer.

Unfortunately, the clean boot hasn't helped.. I've even disabled windows firewall, uninstalled microsoft forefront security, VMWare player,.. Now I don't have any virtual adapters in my connections..

The weirdest thing is that I can connect to other VPN Servers, only this one is giving problems on my computer.

1. In your computer, can you telnet VPN server port 1723?
2. In the VPP server, do you see any error iin the event viewer?
