Dell latitude laptop wifi keeps losing the connection

Situation: after replacing a new router, Dell latitude laptop wifi keeps losing the connection.

Resolution: Change wireless mode. Here is how.

Right click your wifi network and select properties.

Under the general tab click configure.

under advanced tab scroll down to roaming agressiveness and select lowest.

then scroll down to wifi mode and select 802.11g only then click ok at the bottom.

wait a few seconds then manually turn your wifi radio button off then on again (on dells hold down the "Fn" key (bottom left of keyboard) and press F2 you will see the wifi led go off, do the same again to turn back on.

In our case, the problem is the DHCP is out of the IP addresses. We find more and more people bring smartphones and tablets with them. These wifi devices take the IP addresses from the DHCP and sometimes, the AP doesn't release the IP addresses even the device left. We fix this problem by upgrade Cisco AP ISO or upgrade them to Wireless LAN Controller.
