Symptoms: 1. A popup warning that your computer had been infected by anti-virus & anti-spyware. If click cancel or red x to close, it starts to install a software. This is fake anti-virus & anti-spyware.

here are some of fake anti-virus & anti-spywart:
Micro Antivirus 2009, MS Antivirus, Spyware Preventer, Vista Antivirus 2008, Advanced Antivirus, System Antivirus 2008, Ultimate Antivirus 2008, Windows Antivirus, XPert Antivirus, Power Antivirus, and Ultra Antivirus 2009. FreeScan.

You should not click any option in the popup screen. Stop stop it, you should use Task Manager to end the Task.

The following are some tips to protect your system from fake anti-virus & anti-spywar.

1.Only run trusted anti-virus & anti-spywart software.
2. Keep your computer updated with the latest anti-virus and anti-spyware software installed by yourself or network administrators, not from the Internet.
3. Don't click on any pop-up that advertises anti-virus or anti-spyware software.
4. Enable windows firewall.
