Error 2912 when trying to refresh host

Postby guest » Thu Jun 28, 2012 7:11 pm

I am running SCVMM 2008 and am having difficulty with one of our virtual servers. I can refresh one host, but not the other (both running Windows 2008 Hyper-V RTM).

Previously the system in question was working fine, but then reported "hosts not responding" after a failed P2V conversion. Since then I've had difficulty refreshing the host.
I uninstalled the VMM Agent on the host in question and then repushed it from the VMM server successfully. During refresh though, I received the following errors:

Error (2912)
An internal error has occurred trying to contact an agent on the server.domain.com server.
(Unknown error (0x80041001))

Recommended Action
Ensure the agent is installed and running. Ensure the WS-Management service is installed and running, then restart the agent.

I have since been unable to refresh the host and resolve the "Hosts not responding" error listed for each of the virtual machines associated with this particular host.

I have tried the following steps without any luck:
-Turned off Windows firewall on the host in question
-Restarted WS-Management Service and VMM Agent service on host in question
-Restarted VMM Server entirely
-VMM Server Machine Account is listed as a local administrator on the host server

This issue was resolved by installing Windows 2008 SP2 on the virtual host.
