temporary profile logon problem

Postby guest » Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:35 am

When I went to open WHSC on one of my home computers it told me that I was entering an incorrect password. Consequently I decided to reboot WHS and it brought me up a message stating "Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile changes you make to this profile ...

Once rebooted it has allowed me to launch WHSC from my home computer and it appears that all shared folders, backups, etc. are still there but this has me scared. Additionally instaed of going into the normal warning screen on WHS it has simply open to the desktop which is one level down typically.

What has gone wrong I did not change anything that I am aware of any help is greatly appreciated.

Same problem last night, the server went off line, I had to reboot it, when it restarted it came up saying it couldn't load the local profile, it tried to load a temp profile - it started to load, then stopped, rebooted by it's self and then said it needed to run chkdsk, which it did, found and repaired several corrupted files, then loaded as normal.

Nothing had been changed in the settings, the only activity it had during the day was a test recovery to a workshop PC, which by the way failed . Don't know if this had anything to do with it?
