Moving VM in Failover Cluster is too slow

Postby chicagotech » Wed May 09, 2012 4:08 pm

Q: We have two hosts in our Microsoft Failover Cluster. There are 10 Virtual Machines on the cluster. When one of host is down, the VMs in the host move to the another host. That works fine. However, It takes a couple minutes in pending process. Is there any way to make move faster?

A: If you shutdown the host manually, you may wan to do live migrate manually. You do one by one so that the move will take less than one minute in most cases.
