move a vhd, not the VM

i have a VM that i have attached an extra vhd for exchange data (drive D ind the VM)

Now i want to move the location of my exchange data to another physical disc on my server.

I dont want to move my VM, only the extra VHD with my exchange data

How can i do that ?

You can shut down the VM and remove the hard drive in the VM settings. Then move/copy the vhd file to desired location. Then add the hard drive back in the VM settings pointing at the new location, start it up, and you're done.
