DirectAccess with Server 2012 & Windows 8 SCHANEL Error

Postby guest » Sun Jun 24, 2012 10:53 am

everyone, I've set up a lab environment to test DA in Windows Server 2012 with Windows 8 client.

Before someone asks, yes I tried with Windows 8 Release Preview, and as discussed on those forum, thie version is NOT supported for DA, so I started from scratch with Consumer Preview (that has been tested and confirmed as working).

I've followed the whole tutorial to set up the lab (http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archi ... t-lab.aspx)

For a simple overview of the environment:

Now, I'm stuck at this point. When CLIENT1 (Windows 8 CP) is connected to the corporate network, DA is configured and working:

>Get-DAConnectionStatus

Status : ConnectedLocally
Substatus : None

If I connect to the INTERNET network, I got connectivity to the EDGE Server, but DA is not working:

>Get-DAConnectionStatus

Status : Error
Substatus : TunnelDown

On Event Viewer of EDGE Server, I confirm the following error appears each time CLIENT1 tries to connect from the Internet network (Sorry it's in German..but you can get it anyway ;):

The DA Server is configured to be ipv4 comptabile and with Self-Signed certificates. I've no clue how can I fix this issue.

Thank you for your suggestion!

At the end I've started from scratch and I was able to get rid of this error. Then it came back again and I find out it happens when DA Server or Client has firewall turned off.

Now I got the problem that the client connect successfully, and I see it in the remote clients console. But sadly on the Client I got the error "DA Server is not responding" and no events in the Error log :( I'll try to post this topic with more detail on the forum you suggested.
