The e-mails cannot be sent to some external domains

Postby guest » Tue Jan 26, 2010 2:07 pm

Problem Description:

================
The e-mails cannot be sent to some external domains. However, the e-mails can be sent successfully via telnet.

Assessment:

================

Based on the SMTP log, the Exchange 2007 server delivers the e-mails over TLS. However, the TLS connection cannot be established successfully and the mail flow stops.

With the Opportunistic TLS feature, the Exchange 2007 server attempts to deliver the e-mails over TLS if the remote mail server advertise STARTTLS verb.

Resolution:

================

Disable the Opportunistic TLS feature by executing the following cmdlets:

Set-SendConnector -Identity "Send connector name" -IgnoreStartTls:$True
