Running Exchange 2003 in windows 2008 DC

Postby guest » Sat Oct 25, 2008 2:52 pm

- in Exchange 2003 SP2
environment, when you add a Windows 2008 DC to the same site of Windows
2003 DC, Exchange 2003 system attendant stopped running. After you create a
new AD site, assign a new subnet and move the Windows 2008 DC to the new
site. The Exchange 2003 System attendant works when Exchange server 2003
connects the one of the existing Windows 2003 DC successfully in original
site. And you would like to know whether there is a restriction that caused
the Exchange 2003 System attendant does not work when you add Windows 2008
DC to Exchange 2003 environment or replace Windows server 2003 DC with
Windows server 2008 server DC.

Based on my knowledge, there is no restriction that may cause Exchange 2003
System attendant does not work on the process of adding Windows 2008 DC to
Exchange 2003 environment.

- you would like to know whether Exchange 2003 can work
with Windows server 2008 DC.

Based on my knowledge and research, Exchange 2003 cannot be installed on
Windows Server 2008, but will be supported with Windows Server 2008 domain
controllers.
