Advanced tab is missing in IE7 Internet Options

Postby guest » Sat Oct 25, 2008 10:56 am

You are using IE7 on a Windows XP Pro SP2 machine. However, the
Advanced tab is missing in IE7 Internet Options.

This issue can occur if group policy disables the Advanced tab. Based on
the current situation, I suggest we perform the following steps to
troubleshoot the issue.

1. Click Start and then click Run.
2. Type "gpedit.msc" (without quotation mark) in the open box and then
press Enter.
3. Navigate to "Local Computer Policy\Computer Configuration\Administrative
Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel"

4. In the right pane, double click Disable the Advanced page, if it is set
as Enabled, please change it to Not Configured. Click OK.

5. Please also navigate to Local Computer Policy\User
Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet
Explorer\Internet Control Panel

6. In the right pane, double click Disable the Advanced page, if it is set
as Enabled, please change it to Not Configured. Click OK.

7. Restart the computer and check the results.
