Can't change last name in exchange

Postby guest » Sun Oct 19, 2008 8:52 pm

You have changed one user's last name.
However, Exchange System Manager still showed old name of the user.
According to your description, I assume that the old username you mentioned
is the name of user's Exchange mailbox which is displayed at mailbox store
in Exchange System Manager.

If my understanding is correct, I would like to explain that the Exchange
mailbox name reflects the Display name of an user account. In this case, if
you would like to change the Exchange mailbox name in ESM, we need to
update this user's Display name in Active Directory Users and Computers.

For your convenience, I have included the steps below:

Change Display name in ADUC
====================
1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC).
2. Locate the user account you would like to change. Right click it and
select Properties.
3. On the General Tab, change this user's Display name. Click OK.

4. Click Start, click Run, type: services.msc
5. Right click on Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, select
restart.
6. Please wait for some time until the AD replication finishes.
