SCCM package download and then stop

Postby guest » Fri Aug 03, 2012 11:11 am

I recently upgraded SMS 2003 sp3 to SCCM 2007. When trying to push a weekly update, some of my pc's start to download the package in to cache, then it stops. looked in the Execmgr.log. I get the following message:

Execution Request for package SFB000CD program OnePoint Update 4-17-08 state change from WaitingContent to WaitingContent

Then in about 20 minutes, I get the same thing. This package is only 1.2 MB. The client gets approx. 600 KB on the package and the names of the files are: BITF39.tmp (then they increment 1 with the same naming convention).

I have tried to deleting the advertisement and package and reset it up - same result.

Any Ideas??

That's a known issue. See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libr ... 81005.aspx: "If a Configuration Manager 2007 client has multiple network cards (possibly a LAN network card and a dial-up modem), and therefore has multiple IP addresses, the IP address used to evaluate client site assignment is nondeterministic." That article talks about site assignment but this behavior also applies to content location requests.
