SCUP Publishing operation failed because versions no match

i am setting up SCUP, trying to publish one update, and i am getting this error.

The WSUS and SCUP are on seperate boxes, and SQL is on a remote server.

The log looks clean right till the end:

Publish: : --- Calling update server API for update '2b19df23-c21c-4562-9cff-d8f95f314df5'

Publish: : Exception occurred during publishing: Publishing operation failed because the console and remote server versions do not match.

Publish: : --- Removing temporary files...

Any ideas folks?

This occurs when your WSUS computer and SCUP computer have different versions of WSUS installed (either the full install or admin console). This could be caused if you have applied a hotfix to one and not the other or simply different version (SP1 vs. SP2).

I am getting a very similar Error using SCUP 2011

"Publish: A fatal error occurred during publishing :Publishing operation failed because the console and remote server versions do not match."



but yet the WSUS on both systems (the SCUP and target) are at



"Update Services

Microsoft Corporation

Version: 3.2.7600.226"



Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Do you have the WSUS 3.0 SP2 hotfix (found here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=2530678) installed on both the SCUP and WSUS sytems?
