Cause

Backup Exec server is not a part of Domain. This issue occurs if a local user account on the media server (i.e computername\username) is set as default.

Even though the backup job is configured to use "domain\username", the SGMON log shows that Logon attempted was for user "computername\username" account and cause the backup job to fail.

Solution

Workaround:

Use Exchange Recovery Storage Database (RSG) to restore (redirected) the emails.
