Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error

Postby guest » Sun Jun 03, 2012 10:13 am

I have a site that I am trying to save as a site template. When I do this action, I get the following error:

Server Error in '/' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

I have set my web.config <customErrors> to mode="Off" and mode="RemoteOnly" and neither of these show the actual error. Can someone guide me on the next steps to debugging this? I have created site templates before (with custom .NET web parts in the site as well), but it seems to be an issue specifically with this site. I am now making sure that none of the WP's on the page are built in .NET 4.0. Any ideas? Thanks.

Navigate to c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\Templates\Layouts and open up the web.config in this folder. You need to set customErrors mode="off" in here. Also, find the value CallStack and set it to true.
