VMware VM: Network Cable Unplugged

Postby chicagotech » Sat May 12, 2012 9:17 pm

Situation: the client migrated a VM from different host. After starting the VM, the network doesn't work with this error: Network Cable Unplugged.

Troubleshooting: Make sure you have installed VMware Tools on the VM. To do that, go to the VM's Console, select VM -> Guest -> Install/Upgrade VMware Tools.

Where as in my case, it got assigned to the Physical HP Proliant DL 380 G4 Team NIC which i have
choosen while doing P2V process at the network settings options.

just now, i uninstalled Team nic and enabled virtual NIC - > vmware accelerated AMD PCnet adapter and assigned the static IP addressing info manually.

Then i can connect to the network from and to this VM which looks fine.
