How to use force attribute to explicitly re-install the feature

Situation: When trying to Solution Management in SharePoint Central Administration, you may receive this error: A feature has already been installed in this farm. Use force attribute to explicitly re-install the feature.

Resolution:

1. Deleted projecttrackingworkspace.wpg from central administrator-application management – solution management
Ran 'stsadm -o retractsolution -name "projecttrackingworkspace.wsp" –immediate' from command prompt

2. Tried to add projecttrackingworkspace.wpg
Ran "stsadm -o addsolution -filename 'c:/projecttrackingworkspace.wpg'"

3. Tried to deploy projecttrackingworkspace.wpg
Ran ran "stsadm -o deploysolution -name 'projecttrackingworkspace.wpg' –force"
