Outlook 2007 can't connect to Exchange 2013 on XP - Resolution with screenshots

Situation: The client has a new Exchange 2013 server replacing Exchange 2007, Outlook 2010 and OWA work fine. However when they try to connect with Outlook 2007 running on XP, it prompts for username and password. The Outlook won't accept the password.

Resolution:  If Outlook 2007 is running on Windows XP, it is authentication issue.

1. It doesn’t take the certificate of the CAS Internet FQND.  So, to fix this problem, open Microsoft Exchange Proxy Settings from Mail account settings and then Connection. Change the Certificate to an internal FQDN, for example mail.chicagotech.local in Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange.

2. If you use wildcat, you make add * instead of hostname, for example use * instead of mail.

3. If the proxy server is using Base authentication, you may want to switch to NTLM.
