The connection requires active Internet connection

Situation: The client setup Windows VPN on his Windows 7. Sometimes, the VPN shows this message with red X when he runs it: The connection requires active Internet connection.

Resolution: If you are connecting to a VPN and then the computer goes to sleep, you would receive this message when you wake the computer up. The resolution is run ipconfig /flushdns and /registerdns to clear VPN DNS cache.
